Skill Centers

Japan Education Center and Information Foundation is an initiative founded to strengthen India–Japan relations through education, skills, cultural exchange, and industry collaboration. The organization operates Skill Excellence Centers in India, which are designed to promote Japanese-style education and training across two primary clusters:

K-12 Schools (Kindergarten through Grade 12):

These centers focus on delivering Japanese-inspired curricula and programs to younger learners. Offerings include programs such as student exchanges, Japanese language proficiency (e.g. JLPT support), cultural and intellectual exchanges, and school-based skill training from early years through high school. The goal is to inculcate a mindset of cross-cultural understanding, skill readiness, and exposure to global education from an early stage.

Higher Education / Vocational & Professional Institutes:

This cluster caters to college, university, and vocational/professional training institutions. The programs here are more advanced, including accelerated Japanese language programs, workplace skills modeled after Japanese practices, internship opportunities, and study/work/live abroad options. There is also engagement through industry visits (both in India and sometimes to Japan), aimed at equipping students with the professional skills, cultural exposure, and global mobility needed in an interconnected world.

Core Purpose & Values

The centers are meant to “connect people, academia, businesses and industries” between India and Japan, fostering stronger partnerships through education and skills development.
JECI emphasizes Japanese-style education and training as a means to build not just academic knowledge, but also global competencies, intercultural awareness, and readiness for future workplaces.
The programs are structured to be accessible — schools or institutions interested in setting up a Skill Excellence Center can submit inquiries via the website or email to parnership@jeci.co.in to collaborate with JECI.
