The Lower Kindergarten (LKG) program introduces young children to the basics of cleanliness, good habits, safety, and responsibility through simple activities, stories, and daily routines. Children learn to keep their hands, clothes, bags, desks, and classroom clean, recognize good and bad habits, identify waste around them, and follow simple safety rules at home and outdoors. They understand how to place things back in the right place, avoid littering, respect others’ work, and care for their surroundings.

What LKG Students Learn

LKG students learn early hygiene habits, how to keep their classroom tidy, how to separate and throw waste properly, and how to avoid bad habits like spitting, throwing trash, or wasting water and food. They also learn basic safety rules—such as not touching sharp or hot objects, staying away from strangers, and playing safely. The program builds discipline, responsibility, cooperation, and awareness of their environment.

How the Program Supports Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

This program supports the goals of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan by teaching clean habits from an early age. Children learn not to litter, to use waste bins correctly, to keep toilets and classrooms clean, and to respect public spaces—core values of the national mission. By developing these habits early and practicing them at home and school, children become active contributors to a cleaner environment, helping shape a future generation that naturally supports a clean and healthy country.
