The Upper Kindergarten (UKG) program helps children build strong habits of cleanliness, safety, discipline, and responsibility through simple and engaging 5S-based activities. Using stories, observation tasks, drawing, and daily routines, children learn to keep themselves and their surroundings clean and organized, understand good and bad habits, manage waste properly, practise safety, and work well with others.
What UKG Students Learn:
Children learn to maintain personal and classroom hygiene, use their senses to identify unclean areas, and follow short daily cleaning routines. They understand different types of waste, use bins correctly, avoid littering, and reduce waste of water, electricity, and food. The program builds discipline by teaching children to keep belongings in place, avoid spitting or dirtying public areas, and take pride in cleanliness. Safety lessons help them recognise dangers, remember personal details, stay safe at home and outdoors, and behave responsibly during play. Socially, children learn to cooperate, be friendly, respect others, and contribute to a clean environment as a team.
How It Supports Swachh Bharat Abhiyan:
The program directly promotes Swachh Bharat values by encouraging early clean habits such as not littering, not spitting, and keeping toilets and public spaces clean. Children learn proper waste segregation and responsible use of resources, becoming more aware and disciplined citizens. Through parent involvement, the program extends these habits to homes and communities, fostering shared responsibility and long-term cultural change toward a cleaner, healthier country.
